General Motors is set to unveil a new, smaller SUV called the 2008 HX Concept at the Detroit Auto Show next month. Details are thin thus far, but it would appear to be a small, 2-door vehicle that slots below the Hummer H3 in the company’s vehicle lineup. Said brand General Manager Martin Walsh, “We wanted to expand Hummer’s portfolio.”
The HX Concept will feature removable body panels and doors, making it similar to SUV stalwarts such as the Jeep Wrangler and Ford Bronco. The interior will feature a wide center console and lots of off-road accessories for the serious enthusiast (including a flashlight and shovel for those times when you get stuck in the mud).
